About this Event

Why compassionate leadership?

Compassion isn't about being soft. It's one of the most effective ways to lead. Research shows compassionate leadership builds trust, strengthens engagement and resilience, and reduces burnout, for leaders and for their teams. This course gives you the science behind it and the practical tools to put it to work.

What you'll gain

• A clear, evidence-based understanding of compassion and why it matters at work
• A practical process for moving from noticing when someone is struggling to taking helpful action
• Self-compassion skills to help you lead sustainably, without burning out
• Tools to shape a more compassionate culture, systems and ways of working in your organisation
• Confidence to use communication as a lever for positive change
• A Certificate in Compassionate Leadership from the Center for Compassionate Leadership (US)

What we cover

Day 1: You as a leader

• What compassion is, and what it isn't
• The science and benefits of compassion
• The compassion process: from noticing to action
• Self-compassion: a key leadership skill

Day 2: Your organisation

Using the "social architecture" framework, we explore four levers for change:

• Roles: the role of the compassionate leader
• Culture: building compassionate cultures and systems

• Routines: communication as a tool for transforming organisations

We close with your personal next steps, so you leave with a clear plan to apply what you've learned.
