Leading contemporary worship

Are you working to introduce or further invest in contemporary, band-led worship, perhaps alongside more traditional services? This special event, primarily intended for clergy with their worship pastors / Directors of Music and other musicians will be led by Jamie Walker and Kate Flanders of our Youth Catalyst Team with Joy Bishop, Worship and Prayer Pastor at St Saviour’s Guildford, which is generously hosting the evening. Subjects covered will include:

• an overview of contemporary worship genres, song choices and suitability for different church contexts, traditions and age cohorts
• forming worship bands to match your resources – how to find and develop musicians in churches of all sizes
• the role of the worship pastor and how to work effectively with clergy, service leaders and a team of musicians
• leading worship in the power of the Holy Spirit – how to sense and lean into what the Holy Spirit is doing as you worship.
