We are excited to invite you to our Lead Together Series we are hosting on Friday, July 24th, at the Montrose Recreation Center. We will be offering our FREE Athlete Leadership 101 and Unified Leadership Sessions and would love to see you there!
Athlete Leadership 101 - 9 am - 12 pm (lunch included)
Athlete Leadership 101 is an introductory training session designed to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (14+) to build leadership skills beyond the field of play. Participants will learn the basic skills and behaviors of great leaders, then reflect on their own skills and strengths as well as their opportunities for growth. Participants strengthen confidence in public speaking, develop effective communication and teamwork skills, explore goal setting, and gain tools to serve as ambassadors, mentors, and decision-makers within their programs and communities. The session is interactive and centered on helping individuals discover and amplify their leadership voice.
In addition to being a great standalone course, this is also to prerequisite to attend our two-day Athlete Leadership University in the fall. Athlete Leadership University allows individuals with intellectual disabilities to pick a major and receive individualized training in the leadership area of their choosing.

The second event taking place that day is our Unified Leadership Training.
Unified Leadership 1 - 2:30 pm
Unified Leadership helps people without intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID) learn how to value, enable and include people with disabilities. Attendees will gain confidence when communicating and interacting with people with disabilities, grow their inclusive mindsets and behaviors towards people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and learn how to advocate for and alongside people with disabilities. This session is great for anyone interested in learning about inclusive language, disability awareness, and how to live, work, and collaborate alongside people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
