SPEAKER BIOS
Carrie Boyle is a wine professional, educator, and author with more than 25 years of experience spanning wine retail, buying, wholesale sales, and education. She is the author of The Mindful Glass: Hands-On Wine Lab, an experiential wine book designed to make wine education more inclusive, engaging, and joyful through hands-on learning, sensory exploration, and meaningful connection.
Throughout her career, Carrie has worked closely with independent winemakers, brokers, restaurants, and retailers, building programs that connect people to wine through storytelling, education, and shared experience. She has served as a regional wine buyer and General Manager for Total Wine & More in Northern California, founded and operated two independent wine shops, produced a region-wide wine festival, and currently represents boutique wine portfolios across the Sacramento region.
Carrie is a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW). Her work is rooted in the belief that food and wine are powerful tools for connection, curiosity, and community—best enjoyed with intention, generosity, and a sense of play.
Tayler Pecha is Sacramento's only certified Sake Sommelier and Sake Scholar, a former educator turned hospitality expert who has spent more than a decade turning beverage knowledge into unforgettable experiences. Her journey began in the classroom, and that teaching instinct never left; it simply found a better home behind the bar.
After building the acclaimed sake and beverage program at Omakase Por Favor, Tayler earned a reputation for curating thoughtful, high-performing lists and guiding teams through the often-overlooked world of sake with clarity and genuine enthusiasm. She blends deep technical knowledge—fermentation science, regional nuance, and pairing philosophy—with the kind of warmth and storytelling that makes complex subjects feel like a great conversation.
Twice recognized as one of Style Magazine's Best Bartenders and celebrated across multiple bar programs throughout the greater Sacramento region, Tayler continues to grow Sacramento's sake community through her education series, private events, and work as a portfolio representative with Fifth Taste. Her goal has always been the same: to make sake the most exciting thing in the room.
