LCMS Annual Young Composers' Competition

Langley Community Music School is inviting young composers to participate in the annual LCMS Young Composers’ Competition.

Composers will have the opportunity to work with the Rose Gellert String Quartet and other professional musicians during a workshop in which their pieces will be performed and critiqued by the musicians and a jury of prominent composers.

~ Composers Must be Present for the Workshop ~

Leonard Woods Memorial Awards will be awarded to the winners in each category (cash awards):
Junior (9-13 years) $200, Senior (14-18 years) $300, College/University (19-25years) $500.

Winning works will also receive a public performance by the Rose Gellert String Quartet and other professional musicians at the Canadian Music Festival Concert in November, 2025.
