Lazarus with special guest Alex Callenberger

Lead by poet and frontman Ulric Cowley and accompanied by Kyle McInnis on baritone sax, Peter Nimphius on drums, and Scott Benoit on cello. Lazarus explores the space where myth, philosophy, and everyday life intersect, creating a unique blend of the fantastical and the absurd. Lazarus defies categorization but draws influence from everything from jazz, punk, psych, even guided meditation.

Portland, Oregon based guitarist, synth wizard and cinematic expressionist, Alex Callenberger creates soundscapes to dream and swim through. Calling on the powers of electric guitar, live looping, synthesizers, electronic and experimental instruments, he casts sonic spells that straddle and bind the genres of ambient, down-tempo, experimental, post-rock, psych, and folk-minimalism.

Alex will be joined by renowned saxophonist Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), drummer Brandon Warren and bassist Andrew Jones. This performance will also feature analog VHS visuals by experimental artist Skelton Hands of Ithaca, NY.
