Join us at our poetry open mic night on 22 August! Come as you are, be moved by the words of the poets who dwell among us every day, and leave refreshed. We welcome Muslim poets of all levels of confidence and ability, and a respectful audience of any background.
Open mic slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Kindly note that registrations to open mic after all spots have been filled will be waitlisted in case of no-shows. Should waitlisted participants not be activated, they will be given priority for future open mics!
Layl Ash-Shayr is a literary organisation that aims to platform and nurture Muslim writers and creatives. Informally, we're just a group of Muslim friends who wanted a more Muslim-friendly poetry scene in Singapore and do whatever we can to make that happen.
