⭐️This is very early to be sharing news about this, but I am really excited about it!
I am putting on my first, half day retreat! 😍
'Layer Up for Winter,' will take place on Saturday, November 29th, at Great Bentley Methodist Hall, 9.30-1.30pm 😍
"As we get ready to shift into winter and the light begins to soften, this half day retreat invites you to slow down, layer up & turn gently inward. This will be a space for you to move mindfully, create meditatively & take time to pause for written reflection, preparing yourself for the season ahead, stitch by stitch, breath by breath, word by word."
The retreat includes two full yoga sessions; one focusing on nourishing the kidney and bladder meridian. (In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these meridians are associated with winter); the other one is a deliciously slow and soothing session, including aromatherapy, lavender eye pillows and a lovely guided meditation, to leave you feeling rested and ready for the season ahead. Both, of course, will include breathing techniques to help you feel grounded and calm.
The retreat also includes a meditative and creative 'Boro' stitching session, all resources provided. You will be guided throughout to create something unique to take home. This Japanese stitching technique is perfect for both beginner and experienced crafters. As you sew, a 'body mind and spirit' prompt card will encourage you to consider and reflect on what you feel you need to layer into your 'everyday' to help you navigate the winter months.
There will be time to snuggle up on your mat, with your blanket wrapped round you, to write in your journal during the lunch break, and time to chat to other students.
Hot drinks and yummy chocolate and biscuits will be provided throughout. You will also take home an aromatherapy essential oil roller from your second yoga session, as well as your beautifully created Boro-stitched piece. (Please bring your own light lunch - this keeps the cost of the retreat low and therefore as accessible as possible).

(Just by the way...I think I am only going to have eight spaces on this half day retreat. That keeps it manageable in lots of ways. It's super-manageable for me in running it, but its also manageable for students too. Walking into a room with too many people you don't know can sometimes be overwhelming and a bit of a barrier to going along to something...I know I find it tricky sometimes...so, having fewer people will help alleviate this I hope 🥰. Just thought I would mention it so you know what to expect 👍)
