GFR and Texas AgriLife will co-host three sessions over two days focused on Older Adults and Safer Driving. Monday: Retirement from Driving
When is the right time to cut back or retire from driving? We’ll cover economic benefits, alternative transportation, self-assessments, and resources. Afterward, participants can try goggles simulating impairment (alcohol, marijuana, and crossfading) while playing Carnival Games.
Tuesday: Silver Drivers & Impairment
Learn how alcohol, prescriptions, OTC meds, marijuana, opioids, and fatigue affect driving. Includes a mocktail demonstration.
Tuesday: Ocular Disease & Driving
Explore six common eye diseases and experience their impact on vision using simulation goggles.
