Stellar Jiu Jitsu is proud to host a Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics training led by Sgt. Joseph Hunter of the Beckley Police Department. This class will focus on hammerlocks and non-compliant handcuffing using practical and proven jiu-jitsu-based techniques. This class is the first in a series of classes that will be led by Sgt. Hunter and hosted by Stellar Jiu Jitsu in 2026. With over 12 years of law enforcement experience and 10 years of jiu-jitsu training, Sgt. Hunter brings a rare combination of street-tested policing experience and high-level grappling instruction. A brown belt under Pedro Sauer, Sgt. Hunter is also an assistant instructor at Family Martial Arts under Black Belt Jason Wilcox and has been teaching approved law enforcement defensive tactics since 2017.
