About this Event
🍅 4-H County Tomato Project: Growing Roots & Traditions
Join us for the annual 4-H Tomato Project—a hands-on experience that connects youth to agriculture, science, and one of 4-H’s most meaningful traditions. The tomato project holds a special place in 4-H history as the very first 4-H project, making this a great opportunity to be part of something truly impactful.
Open to youth ages 5–18, participants will receive guidance on planting, growing, and caring for their tomato plants from start to harvest. Along the way, youth will learn valuable life skills such as responsibility, record keeping, and goal setting, while gaining a deeper understanding of where their food comes from.
Participants will:
- Receive 2 tomato plants and a project record book
- Plant and care for their own tomato plants
- Learn about soil, watering, sunlight, and plant health
- Track growth and development
- Celebrate their progress at the end of the project
Whether you’re new to gardening or already have a green thumb, this project is a fun and rewarding way to grow something of your own.
👉 Register today and be part of a 4-H tradition that started it all!
