Bar featuring local ales.Lauren South is a rising star in the folk music scene who stepped in, at extremely short notice, to open for Reg Meuross when he was at ACE Space in March 2024. She captivated not only the audience in the hall but those worldwide as the gig was live streamed by LiveToYourLivingRoom.
Reg Meuross said ‘I love Lauren’s voice! It has a distinctive and unique beauty that allows her to turn every word she sings into a kind of magic formula.’. The ACE Space team are delighted that Lauren is returning, this time accompanied by friends Keith Donnerly and John Parker (and maybe others).
Lauren is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist renowned for her original compositions and traditional melodies. With the accompaniment of tenor guitar, fiddle, and shruti box, her songs exude heartfelt emotion and vivid imagery, drawing inspiration from her passion for the nocturnal heavens, the natural world, and her journey through motherhood.
Support Hendrickx Roy - Maia Hendrickx and Calum Roy - are well known to the Ace Space audience in their Americana duo format and as solo artists in in their own right. Expect good banter and harmonies.
