Launch: Stories in Motion & Cultures of Film

Join us on Thursday 5 February between 4pm and 7pm at the Bath House Gallery, Sovereign Design House, to celebrate the launch of Cultures of Film and visit our brilliant first exhibition of the programme, Stories in Motion.

Stories in Motion is an exhibition celebrating the culture, communities, and stories of Kirklees, showcasing films and moving image works, submitted by the community of Kirklees, that celebrate, challenge, inform, and inspire change.

Cultures of Film is the place-based research festival from the School of Arts and Humanities for 2026 that aims to mobilise film/moving image as a tool for investigation, exploration, community action and telling stories of change.

This exhibition is supported by the University of Huddersfield and the AHRC Creative Communities programme, led by Northumbria University.
