Harvest Festival Launch Dinner at Scrumpers KitchenFeaturing Lucy Ridge in conversation with Emma McDonald
Join us for a special evening at Scrumpers Kitchen, Bungendore, as we officially launch the 2026 Bungendore Harvest Festival with a seasonal dinner celebrating the women who grow our food.
This intimate launch event will feature a three-course menu showcasing the best of the season, created to feature produce grown and raised by remarkable local women farmers, including Branch and Burrow, Parker’s Patch, Home Soil and From the Paddock. Each course will be thoughtfully paired with drinks from two of the region’s standout female producers — Everyday Legacy Craft Distillery and Sapling Yard Winery, or a non alcoholic selection from Scrumpers Kitchen
The evening will also feature Lucy Ridge, in conversation with Emma McDonald from Her Canberra, about the release of her debut book Fed Up: A Chef’s Adventure in Food, Farming and Feminism. In conversation with Emma McDonald, Lucy will share stories from her journey through Australia’s food and farming communities. A former chef and passionate advocate for sustainable food systems, Lucy reflects on working alongside women across the country — from wild-harvesting bush foods with an Indigenous Elder in Broome, to cheese-making in New South Wales, butchering pasture-raised pigs in Victoria, stomping grapes in Tasmania and shucking oysters near Jervis Bay. Through these experiences she explores ethical food production, care for Country, and the vital role women play in shaping our food future.
Expect a relaxed and celebratory evening of exceptional local food, beautiful drinks and inspiring conversation. Come together with growers, chefs and food lovers as we raise a glass to the women shaping the future of agriculture.
