Step inside the fast-paced, high-pressure world of 1950s television comedy with Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Neil Simon’s uproarious and semi-autobiographical comedy inspired by his early years as a writer on Your Show of Shows.
Set in a bustling New York writers’ room, the play follows a sharp-witted team of comedy writers racing against the clock to deliver laugh-out-loud sketches for a live television broadcast. As egos clash and punchlines fly, the group must also navigate network interference, eccentric personalities, and the growing tension of McCarthy-era politics looming over the industry.
At the center of the chaos is Max Prince, the brilliant but volatile head writer whose comedic genius keeps the room humming—and whose unpredictable temperament keeps everyone on edge. What unfolds is a hysterical, high-energy celebration of creativity, camaraderie, and the madness behind making people laugh.
