Laughs in Queer is a monthly open-mic event for all your 2SLGBT+/QTBIPOC comedy cravings!!

Taking place monthly at @slicevancouver we're here to bring you a space to meet friends, laugh, and try standup with each other in a safe community environment ✨

We are taking off this December because mommy needs a bit of a break 🥲 but December is not November which means that I must yet still drag myself from the comfort of my bed to produce your favourite least serious gay open-mic in the city ❤️

Fortunately this time I have some help from the hilarious and delightful @natalia_dot_exe. She's a regular at @laughsinqueervancouver, featured at TGirls: Raw and Uncut, and is also my friend and so wins by nepotism when I have a schedule conflict which makes me late to my own show 😭

Come send us off for the year with the cute jokes you've been making to cope with the nascent state of the world, and maybe pick up a hug or two on the way out 🫂

Laughs in Queer starts with a 1 hr drop-in social. This is where you can in to spend some time writing, chatting, and exploring your comedic ideas with each other or our lovely host! Then at 7:00 PM begins our open mic, where folks are encouraged to get up on stage to show their stuff. Even if you only have one joke, we want you on stage to tell it!! 🎤

We will also have a camera set-up and will be happy to help you tape any material you want for demo tapes or social media content! 📷

Drinks are available to folks to order at any point in the night! 🍹

OPEN MIC START - 7:00 PM

Tickets are $15-25 sliding scale or PWYC at Slice of Life Art Gallery

The goal of Laughs in Queer is to create space where folks can share their own stories and experience through comedy to help connect a build a more loving and joyful community. Comedy with intention to put people down or make fun of an identity you do not personally hold will be removed from the space.
