VENUE:
First things first, let's talk about the venue... & the man who made this happen in Brighton!
A Spiegeltent is a large travelling tent constructed from wood & canvas and decorated with mirrors & stained glass, intended as an entertainment venue. Adrian is the man behind the idea of bringing this to Brighton for us, he has been doing this for a decade in Old Steine Gardens, Brighton. The whole garden transforms in to this beautiful fairytale world for the entire month of May. A food, drink & entertainment venue right by the beach.

CLASSES:
We will have Beginner, Improver & Intermediate Cuban SALSA & BACHATA Classes, which will be progressive. If you are thinking of starting then this is the perfect opportunity to join our ever-growing community. Salsa originates from Cuba & Bachata from the Dominican Republic. Try it out to find out which one will be your new addiction! Some folks prefer Salsa, some prefer bachata & some can't get enough of both!
BACHATA ARTISTS:
✨ Ashley - Ashley lives in Ruislip, London. Born & bred in London, he teaches bachata all around the UK, and has very successful weekly & monthly events in London. Recently he won a Jack & Jill Bachata competition in Germany. He is one of the top bachata dancers in the UK. Catch him at this event, it will be his first time teaching in Brighton 🎉
✨ Leni - Leni is from Mallorca, Spain, she will be co-teaching with Ashley, flying all the way from Mallorca this weekend just for us. Isn't that exciting⁉️
When Ashley went to Barcelona last year for his bachata training he met Leni over there, the first dance they had together was so good & full of passion from both sides, this had to happen. We can't wait to see that magical connection right here in Brighton.
✨ Dámaris - Dámaris is from Zaragoza, Spain but she lives in London. She learnt bachata in Spain from the world bachata masters. She is well known for the great vibes she brings to the dance floor, also her softness and the elegance as a follower dancer. It is safe to say that she is one on the best bachata dancers in the UK bachata scene. She will be teaching Bachata in the Spiegeltent.
✨ Esteban - Esteban is from and lives in Zaragoza, Spain. He will also be flying all way from Spain for us. How cool‼️
Esteban & Dámaris are siblings who frequently teach around Europe, mostly in Spain & the UK. We can't wait to have them here with us.
✨ Elsa Cuny - Elsa Cuny is from Nice, France. She has been living in Brighton for over a decade now. She is a co-founder of La Escuela De Bachata (EDB) - the largest bachata dance school on the South Coast. She also co-founded Bailemos Brighton - the first and biggest monthly bachata party in Sussex. She also co-directed two seasons of the Bachata Gems of Brighton performance team. She is a great teacher, social dancer in both bachata & LA style Salsa, and has six years' experience teaching bachata.
✨ Beth Miriam - Beth was born in England but lived in Madrid for several years where she started learning bachata from the world bachata masters. She now lives in Brighton and is a co-director of La Escuela De Bachata (EDB) - the largest bachata dance school on the South Coast. She has 12 years' experience as a teacher of languages, and for the last 6 years has combined this with her knowledge of and love for bachata. For the 3rd year now she is training the PaoPao's Army styling team in Brighton.
CUBAN SALSA ARTISTS:
✨ Director of Cubashe Dance Promotions & teacher. As a street dancer and percussionist from Havana, Leo studied at Music School and then went on to play with many of Cuba’s top bands during the 80’s.
Hence his dancing style is now heavily influenced by his musical and percussion background.
Leo established ‘Cubashe Dance Promotions’ in the UK in 2000 in order to share, promote and develop his passion for music & dance. Since that time, he has successfully organised cultural events such as, ‘Black History Month’ in 2004 and the 2007 Rueda Congress that attracted people from all over Europe. More recently, he was also involved in organising the 2013 Brighton Salsa Festival.
Leo also has DVDs on sale through ‘SalsaTap’ if you want to watch and study at home to practice your technique.
✨ Cuban Dance Collective - CDC
We are so excited to introduce this incredibly talented and knowledgeable team of Cuban Salsa Stars.
Dancing together for over 7 years, the Cuban Dance Collective has been born out of a passion for Cuban music and dance, and a desire to bring high energy classes and new concepts to Brighton.
After gaining invaluable experience across UK and international festivals, as well as multiple trips to Cuba, the team hope to inspire you with their knowledge and vibrancy.
They have received great feedback from the salsa classes they taught at the Bailemos Latín Dance Festival in Brighton.
We can't wait to experience this on this day full of Latin dance & music.
✨ Santi & Issy - Brighton-based teachers, Santi (Argentina) & Issy (Spanish/English). They are multi talented, with love for both Salsa & Bachata equally, hence they are amazing social dancers in both worlds, they teach 3 nights per week in Brighton, making a big contribution to the growth of the Latin Dance Community. Catch them teaching Bachata & Salsa at this event.
✨ Fanático De La Danza
MAYUR aka Fanático De la Danza is, as the name suggests, a true dance fanatic and hails from New Delhi, India.
He started his dance journey at an early age of 14, performing bollywood dance. As he grew up, he ventured into dancing Hiphop and even Indian Contemporary where he won awards.
He discovered the world of Latin dancing in 2010 and absolutely fell in love with Salsa, bachata & Kizomba (from Angola)
He is a co-founder of La Escuela De Bachata (EDB) - the largest bachata dance school on the South Coast. He is also a co-organizer of the Spring Festival 2024 - Bachata & Kizomba.
With 7 years' experience teaching bachata, he is one of your teachers & DJs for this event.

✨ DJ Chino - DJ Alex Chino is from London and he is the resident DJ in the biggest bachata night in the UK - Bachata Exchange. He happens to be a Salsero & Bachatero so get ready for a good mix of Bachata & Cuban Salsa
✨ DJ Fanático - He is also a legendary Salsa & Bachata dancer from New Delhi, India. He knows his music very well. He is a resident DJ at La Escuela De Bachata (EDB). You are in for a treat Brighton!
✨ DJ Kelvin is from Peacehaven, England. He is a resident La Escuela De Bachata DJ who is also a very passionate Cuban Salsa Dancer. His music selection is fantastic, are you ready for him⁉️
✨ DJ Bish is from Nepal, living in the UK for over a decade now. A resident DJ at La Escuela De Bachata (EDB). He is a co-founder of La Escuela De Bachata (EDB) - the largest bachata dance school on the South Coast. He has also co-founded Bailemos Brighton - teh first and biggest bachata monthly party in Sussex. He is also the founder of the Brighton Spring Festival - Bachata & Kizomba, 2nd edition this 2024. Finally he is the founder of the Brighton Latin Summer Bash (BLSB). He will also be your host for this event.
