About this Event
VLACC is thrilled to present a special edition of our Latin American Short Stories Reading Group, in partnership with the Vancouver Writers Fest and part of Latin Expressions 2025, featuring acclaimed Mexican-Canadian writer Martha Bátiz.
Together, we’ll explore three of her powerful stories Svetlana of Montreal, The Audition, and Apartment 91B which reflect on migration, womanhood, identity, and resilience with Martha’s signature blend of sharp insight and emotional depth.
The stories will be available in both English and Spanish, and the discussion will be led in English. No prior knowledge of Latin American literature is needed, just curiosity and a love for storytelling. Everyone is welcome!
