Legendary jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall is set to kick off proceedings on Friday 5 July. With her versatile work, pre-bop piano style and refined live performances, Krall leaves a lasting impression on long-standing as well as new fans. Also performing on the first festival day is the Bill Frisell Trio. Accompanied by Thomas Morgan on double bass and Rudy Royston on drums, guitar legend Bill Frisell explores the many facets of Americana in his own quirky way within a contemporary jazz framework. Joining the line-up: the Marco Mezquida Trio, who have just been added and who will be playing some of the songs on their ‘Letters to Milos’, a playful hotch-potch of jazz and traditional Iberian music.
