Ready to push your limits a little—or a lot? The Last One Standing Backyard Ultra returns for its second year, running alongside our classic Kootenay Fun 5 but requiring its own separate registration for those adventurous (and maybe slightly wild) runners who want something more.How It Works:
Runners tackle a ~6 km loop and must finish within 60 minutes.
Finish in time? You earn the right to start again.
This cycle repeats every hour, on the hour, climbing into Cranbrook’s stunning Community Forest, until only one runner remains. The final athlete must complete one last loop solo—and is then crowned the Last One Standing.
Why Try It?
This race isn’t about beating others. It’s about testing yourself.
Whether you complete two loops or ten, the victory is in setting a goal, pushing your limits, and discovering what you’re capable of. The winner may take the title, but every participant walks away with a story they earned step by step.
