Over thirty session musicians across two continents were involved in album making, with half of the tracks recorded in Brazil using local musicians brought together at the last minute.
The spirit of Greep’s increasingly febrile and furtive soliloquies calls to mind both Frank Zappa and Frank Sinatra, with a healthy dash of Scott Walker sprinkled throughout. The stories on The New Sound act as a shopping list of the Active Male Imagination, with Greep playing the role of emcee and conductor.
