Laser-Cut Spooky Halloween Lantern Workshop
About this Event
Join Maidstone Hackspace for a hands-on Halloween workshop where you will customise an existing wooden lantern design with your own spooky laser-cut artwork.
Choose the images, shapes or patterns you would like to feature—such as pumpkins, ghosts, bats, skulls, cobwebs or haunted houses—and we will show you how to prepare them for laser cutting.
Your chosen designs will then be cut into the wooden lantern panels before you assemble your finished light.
Each lantern includes a mains-powered colour-changing LED light with a wireless remote control, allowing you to choose different colours and lighting effects at home.
No previous laser-cutting, design or making experience is required.
What you will do
During the workshop, you will:
- choose your own Halloween-themed images or designs;
- learn how artwork is prepared for laser cutting;
- position your designs on the lantern template;
- see your personalised panels produced using the laser cutter;
- assemble your wooden lantern; and
- install and test the colour-changing LED light.
You will take home a completed, personalised Halloween lantern with its mains power supply and wireless remote control.
What is included
Your ticket includes:
- one pre-designed wooden lantern kit;
- all required wooden panels and fixing materials;
- use of the laser cutter and workshop equipment;
- help preparing your selected images for laser cutting;
