Rare Disease Celebration – Hosted by Dreamsickle Kids

Dreamsickle Kids proudly hosted the Rare Disease Celebration to honor and support individuals and families impacted by rare diseases. While Rare Disease Day is recognized annually on February 28th, this event emphasized that awareness, advocacy, and support are needed every day.

The goal of the event was to raise awareness, connect with the rare disease community, and provide education on rare conditions affecting millions, including Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), childhood cancer, PKU, cystic fibrosis, and other lesser-known disorders. Attendees engaged with patient speakers, healthcare experts, and community partners offering vital resources and support.

Through education, outreach, and empowerment, this celebration strengthened Nevada’s rare disease community, amplifying voices and fostering greater understanding and action for those living with rare conditions.
