L'Art Noir: The Social Gathering - NYC

Join us for the next edition of L'Art Noir: The Social Gathering—an afternoon dedicated to art, community, and creative expression. On March 15, 2026, we are taking over the beautiful Tanya Weddemire Gallery in Industry City for an exclusive, immersive experience.

Our gathering centers around the gallery's latest exhibition, 'Making Something Out of Nothing'. Curated by Tatianna Mack, this powerful exhibition honors the ingenuity and resilience of Black communities across the diaspora. It highlights the act of transforming what is often overlooked into something enduring and beautiful.

We will begin with an intimate, private tour led by the gallery’s curator. We’ll dive deep into the works of featured artists Kaima Marie Akarue, Tyreek Morrison, Nia Winslow, and Candace Caston, exploring how they use collage and found materials to bridge the gap between memory, identity, and modern life.

Inspired by the exhibition’s themes of resourcefulness and transformation, we will transition into a hands-on workshop. Each attendee will have the opportunity to create their own original collage. Whether you are a seasoned artist or haven't picked up a pair of scissors since grade school, this is a space to play, experiment, and tell your own story through paper and texture.
