Blending soulful vocals with blistering guitar work, blues, rock, soul, and funk, Larry McCray has spent more than three decades earning recognition as one of America's premier blues artists. He first gained national attention as the inaugural artist signed to Virgin Records' Pointblank blues label, launching a career that has included performances alongside legends such as B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Albert Collins, Joe Walsh, and the Allman Brothers Band.
Honored with the Orville H. Gibson Male Blues Guitarist of the Year Award, Blues Matters! Top Guitarist, and the Sunshine Sonny Payne Award for Blues Excellence, McCray was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2024. His acclaimed album Blues Without You received a Blues Music Award nomination and was named the #1 Blues Album of 2022 by Blues Rock Review.
The Guardian praised his early recordings for their "fusion of rock and soul," while Raw Ramp called Blues Without You "a magnificently soulful blues album, seasoned with wisdom." With passionate vocals, masterful guitar playing, and songs rooted in authenticity, Larry McCray continues to deliver electrifying performances that reaffirm his place among the finest blues musicians of his generation.
