Lantern Airship Workshop for the Beltline Lantern Parade!

This lantern workshop is for the Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade on September 19!

Both sessions are part of the class. Please plan to attend both days:

Sunday, Sept 13, 1–5pm

Monday, Sept 14, 6–9pm

Over two workshop sessions, you'll build a glowing lantern airship to fly in the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade. You'll build the shape with caning, add warm lights, paper maché your lantern shade, and paint it to make it all your own. Everyone will start from the same base ship design, and you customize your shape, colors, and details - let your creativity shine! All materials are included. Please bring a pair of garden snips (pruners) if you have some.

Lantern Airships are a 12-person class, great for adults and crafty kids age 12+ (adult accompaniment required). Please do your best to be on time for the first session.

The Airship Armada will fly together in the BeltLine Lantern Parade with the Common Sky Collective! Plan to line-up a polite distance in front of Mausiki Scales & Common Ground Collective. (See route map)

! The Lee+White entrance is on White St. Make a left and go all the way to the Lee St. end. We are undeneath the dentist and chiropractor. Look for the red Krewe flag. The first two hours of parking are free, then it is $6.

Here are the parade details , other workshops, and the route map. We line-up at 7:15 on Tift Ave & Lucile St. at Adair Park II and step-off at 8:00pm. It's a 1.4 mile walk to the finish at Lee + White.
