Langarm - Sokkie

The Gat Party is a popular monthly LGBTQIA+ dance event in Cape Town that brings people together for a night of traditional Afrikaans social dancing, including langarm and sokkie hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s 90’s and current hits, Line Dance and waltzes and themed party hits. We also do Song requests.

A safe, welcoming, and inclusive space that is queer-friendly and proudly straight-friendly. It is a bring-your-own-drinks and snacks event. There is no bar, but ice is sold at the venue.

Dress Code: Casual and relaxed—attendees can dress up, go themed, or come as they are in shorts and plakkies (slates/flip-flops).

Tickets: Advance pre-booking is strictly required (typically around R60 per person), as no tickets are sold at the door.
