On Wednesday 14 October 2026, at 6.30 pm, at the UNIX GALLERY in New York (195 Chrystie Street, New York, NY 10002), Tiziano Calcari’s solo exhibition, Paesaggi dell’Anima (Landscapes of the Soul), curated by the Milanese art critic Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico, will open.
The exhibition, organised by UNIX GALLERY in collaboration with the Ethicando Association of Milan, runs until 28 October 2026 and is sponsored by Enolgas Italia and Enolgas USA, as well as being promoted by Betting On Italy.
The exhibition features around twenty works by the Lombard artist, mainly from his most recent body of work, which are emblematic expressions of that concept of Sustainable Art in which his artistic research has found a fully-fledged theoretical and critical definition.
As curator Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico states, «Tiziano Calcari’s artistic practice finds its key to interpretation in Sustainable Art. His painting stems from a personal experience of coming to terms with mourning and transforms memory into a universal language, capable of reconciling the inner dimension with a sense of responsibility towards the world.
Through imaginary landscapes and figures suspended between reality and vision, the artist reconstructs the places of his memory, giving shape to a poetic universe permeated by a profound sense of universal love. His works invite the public to reflect on the value of human relationships, our relationship with nature, and the possibility of rediscovering a balance founded on empathy, generosity and sharing.
In Calcari’s view, sustainability is not limited to environmental or social issues but takes the form of a genuine journey of personal transformation. His artistic practice finds its place into the broader contemporary debate on sustainability, presenting art as a tool for human growth, reconciliation and cultural renewal».
The presentation of the exhibition in the American context takes on particular significance. The United States, in fact, represent a cultural environment that has historically been open to discussion on issues of sustainability, understood not only in its ecological dimension but also as a paradigm of social transformation, responsible relationships and personal growth. From this perspective, Calcari’s work finds a natural space for dialogue, as it proposes a conception of sustainable art based not merely on denunciation or the representation of environmental issues, but on the work’s capacity to generate awareness, empathy and inner change.
The encounter between the artist’s poetics and the American public thus becomes an opportunity to share a vision of sustainability understood as an overall balance between the individual, the community and the environment: a perspective in which art takes on the role of a tool for knowledge, care and human renewal.
UNIX Gallery in New York has fully grasped the artistic and cultural significance of the exhibition project, recognising its innovative value and its ability to foster a dialogue between contemporary art, sustainability and aesthetic exploration.
To organise the exhibition, the gallery is collaborating with the Ethicando Association in Milan, an organisation that has been active internationally for almost twenty years in promoting and disseminating Sustainable Art through an interdisciplinary approach based on the convergence of artistic culture, scientific research and social innovation.
The association operates through a cultural and technical-scientific platform, directed by Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico, which involves universities, institutions, and figures from the academic and professional worlds, promoting projects that explore the relationship between creativity, responsibility and sustainable development. This work has contributed to the development of a vision of art understood not merely as an aesthetic expression, but as a tool for knowledge, awareness-raising and individual and collective transformation.
The exhibition is sponsored by Enolgas, an Italian company with an international reach and a well-established presence in the United States, which stands as a shining example of the continuity between manufacturing tradition, technological innovation and a commitment to the principles of sustainability.
Founded in 1960 by the Bonomi family in the Brescia area of Italy, Enolgas began as a company specialising in the production of valves for the wine industry, the gas sector and industrial applications. As the company has evolved, it has progressively expanded and diversified its activities, establishing itself as a leading player in the design and manufacture of taps and valves for plumbing and heating systems, energy infrastructure and natural gas distribution networks.

The exhibition, curated by Paolo Calcari, the artist’s son, is a first step towards further initiatives on Sustainable Art, which will involve the United States.

Tiziano Calcari was born in Brescia on 29 September 1969 and grew up in Irma, a small village in the Upper Trompia Valley. From childhood, he showed a natural aptitude for drawing and painting, which he nurtured despite a family environment that was not particularly conducive to artistic expression.
A key factor in his artistic development was his time at the Diocesan Seminary in Brescia, where he began his creative journey. In 1981, he produced his first oil painting and, from the 1990s onwards, he honed his painting technique under the guidance of the Paraguayan master Gil Alegre.
At the same time, he embarked on an intensive programme of exhibitions, taking part in shows and competitions in Italy and abroad.
In the early 2000s, he developed the “Dolci Presenze” series, characterised by human figures suspended between reality and imagination, which became the hallmark of his artistic practice. Since 2007, his works have been promoted by Crisolart Galleries in Barcelona in major international exhibitions (New York, Beijing, Marbella).
Over the years, he has taken part in numerous events dedicated to contemporary art, exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Paris, London, Berlin, Dubrovnik, Tirana, Abu Dhabi, Amman), further developing an artistic vision based on the dialogue between memory, imagination and sustainability.
His work finds a significant interpretation within the framework of Sustainable Art, as developed by the art critic Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico.
In 2023, a monograph was dedicated to him: “The Artistic Experience of Tiziano Calcari: Creativity and Mourning in Sustainable Art” (M.E. Di Giandomenico, Milan, Silvana Editoriale, 2023), which was subsequently also presented at the Pinacoteca di Brera. In 2024, he also exhibited two works at the Chamber of Deputies as part of SUSTART 2024 and, in 2025, he was the focus of a solo exhibition at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, organised as part of MILAN ARTWEEK.
Tiziano Calcari’s work is characterised by a poetic and symbolic figurative language, capable of transforming personal experience into a universal reflection on memory, the imagination and the human value of art.
