Landscapes of Legacy

Join Christiansburg Institute, Inc. (CI, Inc.) to learn more about our recent Virginia Humanities grant award and the next phase of Landscapes of Legacy: A Digital Humanities Initiative Connecting Place, Memory, and Community. The program will introduce plans to expand the African American Legacy Tour, an interactive digital platform highlighting culturally significant heritage sites related to African American history across Southwest Virginia with a focus on Montgomery County, using archival materials, photographs, historical narratives, and community memory. Attendees will learn what to expect from the project, including new heritage sites, expanded digital content, educational programs, and opportunities for community participation.
Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library seeks to provide all patrons with a welcoming, productive, and safe environment. For accessibility information and requests, please contact [email protected]. Providing at least 48-72 hours advance notice will help ensure availability.
