About this Event
In this two-week course, Wednesdays, January 8 & 15, 5:30-8:30 pm, you will be taught the basic techniques of watercolor and how to use them to bring landscapes to life. You will learn about composition, value, and color to capture the beauty of the world around us. Bring along a few photos for reference and learn how to transform them into paintings in your own style. You are also more than welcome to bring your own paints, but it is not required.
About the instructor: Audrey Parker is an art teacher who loves to teach paper craft and painting. Her artistic practice revolves around creating realistic paper flowers, as well as watercolor paintings with elements of paper sculpture, focusing primarily on nature and our connection to it. She graduated from MECA in 2021 with a Masters in Art Education, and in 2019 with a B.F.A. in Painting and a minor in Art History. Growing up in rural Maine, Audrey has a deep connection to the natural landscape around us.
