Landscape Visioning

Buscot and Coleshill Estate has been a pioneer in farming practices at various points in its history but with increased awarness of climate change and wildlife decline how does a farmed tenanted estate respond. Looking at landscape character, surveys as well as soil and water modelling how does a vision form and what does delivery look like. Communuication and stakeholder enagagement is key and maintaining what needs to be protected including the nontangible culture in the landscape.

Speakers:

Christian Walker - Trained and worked as Landscape Architect and Environmental Planner working largely in restoration initally of quarries but then public parks, farm and estate sector. Trained as Surveyor and worked in National Trust for 15 years. Worked on variety of areas managing different landcapes ranging from Uffington White Horse to Largest Concrete listed barn. Key delivery of Parkland restoration schemes (Sarsden, Hackfall, Hanbury, Coleshill), adaptive reuse projects (Sansaw, Coleshill Home Farm, Hills Yard, Buscot) and visitor infrastructure (Chastleton, Coughton, Croome) including leading the National Trust's first Heritage and Rural Skills Centre opening in 2023. Compliance and restoration projects including Buscot Reservoir, Coleshill Stables fire as well as mansion rewire and reroofing projects.
