Develop your landscape painting skills over four intensive sessions with a professional artist and special guest artists.
About this Event

Join us for a four-week Landscape Masterclass designed for artists looking to deepen their understanding of landscape drawing and painting. Through practical exercises, demonstrations, discussion and individual guidance, you'll explore how artists observe, interpret and respond to the landscape.

Led by an experienced professional artist, each session will also feature guest artists sharing their own approaches, techniques and insights.

Over the four weeks, participants will:

• Explore different artistic responses to the same landscape subject.
• Learn the value of sketchbooks, viewfinders and thumbnail studies.
• Develop effective methods for gathering visual information on location.
• Create colour studies and learn how to use photography as a helpful reference tool.
• Understand common challenges when working from the landscape and how to overcome them.
• Explore perspective, composition, tone and structure.
• Investigate colour, light and atmosphere through practical exercises.
• Experiment with limited palettes and colour theory.
• Review and discuss work produced throughout the course.

The course will begin with an introduction to the tutor's own artistic practice and approach to landscape painting before moving into a series of practical workshops and guided exercises.

Cost

£50 for all four sessions

Participants must book the complete four-session programme. Individual sessions cannot be booked separately.
