About this Event
In this new educational series, we are combining classroom instruction, demonstration and applied experience on how to properly design, install, and maintain landscapes and work with Florida-Friendly Plants.
For our April workshop, learn how to properly shop for, plant, and establish landscape plants and then go outside with our volunteers to install some new and refresh some old landscape areas with new plants. We will also cover proper establishment, basics of micro-irrigation, and care for your new plants so they can thrive for years to come. All participants will be required to fill out a volunteer form for the University of Florida. This class is open to adults (18+) only.
This event will be outside so please dress appropriately for weather and the work we will be doing including closed-toe shoes. Please bring your own safety equipment (gloves, safety glasses if needed). You may bring your own hand pruners to use but please do not bring any power tools. Water, coffee, and snacks will be provided.
