Our lives changed in an instant.
Landon was unexpectedly rushed to the ER after passing out. We soon learned he was in severe diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) caused by previously undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes. His condition became critical, resulting in brain edema and kidney damage. He spent 4 days in the ICU and 6 days total in the hospital.
Now we are beginning a journey we never expected.
As a single mom with another 7-year-old son, I’m facing overwhelming medical bills along with the ongoing cost of insulin, diabetic supplies, medications, appointments, and the care Landon will need moving forward.
For those who know Landon, you know what an incredible kid he is. He’s a freshman at Long Creek High School, works hard at Freiheit, and is smart, funny, caring, and incredibly selfless. He has always been the kind of kid who shows up for others.
Now we’re asking our community to show up for him. 💙
Landon is learning how to manage a lifelong condition while still trying to be a normal teenager. Any donation—no matter the amount—will help our family tremendously. And if you aren’t able to donate, sharing this post means just as much.
