Join us in December for "Henry Rowe Schoolcraft and the First Expedition across the Missouri Ozarks"
In the winter of 1818, Henry Rowe Schoolcraft and his partner set out to explore the Ozarks. This geologist and cartographer, kept a detailed journal of observations of plants and forests, limestone cliffs, prairies and oak savannahs that define this unique region. The publication of his notes and observations continue to inform historians and natural resource managers today. Join Clinton Flowers, Interpretive Aide at the Missouri State Museum, for this overview the expedition, its accomplishments and the legacies of this pioneering explorer.
