About this Event

The goal of this course is to prepare you to be flexible and handle a variety of management circumstances, according to the label and to the law. It is expected that you have read and reveiwed the manual for L&O prior to attending class.

STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE FOUNDATIONS BEFORE ADVANCING TO MASTERS. NO EXCEPTIONS.

This course is designed to cover plant and turf pests, pathogens, weeds and advanced concepts in recognizing symptoms and developing solutions to lawn and turf problems using an IPM approach. This course includes the concepts of avoiding pesticide drift, understanding product rotation for resistance management, product modes of action and the principles behind using adjuvants, surfactants and tank-mixing. We also emphasize regulatory compliance and cover the duties of a certified operator as well as the requirements of FS482 and 5E-14.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Full refund up to 7 days before the class.
  • There is a 50% cancellation fee 2 to 6 days before the class.
  • No refunds the day before or the day of the event (including no shows).

Program Comments: This course includes a lecture and hands-on portion. It is 2.5 days long and is team taught by FDACS, industry experts, and UF/IFAS.

State exams administered at PMU are proctored electronically through Everblue. You must select the $32 option for the remote online exam at sign up on the Everblue website.

To take the state exam at PMU, you MUST:

  • Apply to take the state exam and receive a voucher through FDACS
  • Your voucher from FDACS is good for 1 year, so we recommend you apply as early as you can.
  • Have a valid voucher with FDACS by date of the test.
  • Have paid for your exam with Everblue, selecting the $32 remote option. This must be done at least the night before the exam.
  • Paid-for Everblue exams will be valid to take up to 60 days after payment is received.
  • Bring your own compatible device, which has a functional webcam, functional microphone, and meets the technological specifications outlined by Everblue. It is the responsibility of the test taker to verify that your computer meets the technology requirements for testing by Everblue.
  • You must have administrative rights to your computer to download the testing app. If using a company laptop, you may need to install this prior to coming to PMU.
