On July 4, 2026, the United States will mark its semiquincentennial, a historic 250-year milestone since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This moment invites Arkansans to reflect not only on our shared past, but also on the role we will play in shaping the state’s economic and civic future.
The Little Rock Regional Chamber is excited to convene business leaders and members of the community for this forward-looking conversation on Arkansas’ place in the national landscape. Drawing on decades of experience in journalism, public policy, and economic development, Nelson offers a compelling perspective on Arkansas’s role in the broader American narrative, grounding the discussion in history and identity. He will also explore what Arkansas could—and should—look like by America’s 300th birthday. From talent attraction and rural development to infrastructure and quality of life, this session will highlight the opportunities and challenges that will define the state’s next era of growth.
