Not necessarily a witching weekend but I am told the Pendle Inn sometimes has guests that haven’t signed in !
We set off from Matlock Bath Friday morning at 1000hrs and ride through Chatsworth Park, past the beautiful house and gardens, on up along the Snake Pass up over Holme Moss and along the corridor of mill towns that was THE backbone of Britain in days gone by.
We have a choice of fabulous and fantastic routes to choose that will take us up to the wild and remote village of Barley, where our accommodation sits nestled under Pendle Hill.
There is something for everyone up here - yes, if you want to embrace the story of the Witches of Pendle and follow the physical around that - there is the churchyard at Newchurch to explore and the Witches Galore shop opposite .. the site of Malkins Tower at Blacko.
Other historic sites are plentiful - Clithero Castle, Wycoller abandoned village and hall, Hornby Castle to name a few.
Riders might like to join me in a Saturday round robin ride out up through the Trough of Bowland from where there are fantastic views out over Morecombe Bay and to where we will drop in for refreshments and maybe dip our toes in the sea 🤔
We follow the coast road up and veer east towards Kirby Lonsdale or further up towards Kirkby Stephen and pop to see Pendragon Castle (owned by grandfather of King Arthur) … and dash through the Yorkshire Dales en route back … 😎
Sunday is a ride back - maybe via Skipton … Haworth (of Bronte fame) or how about following the west coast over to Blackpool then a tunnel under the Mersey and over to Wales … before tripping to matlock bath? The World is our oyster !!
The Forest of Bowland is a Dark Skies Site and with the hope of no clouds we might get to do some fabulous star gazing too 🤩

is an independent motorcycle tour facilitator based in the Midlands and hereto referred as CFBT.
CFBT will endeavour to arrange the best value for money in terms of accommodations and routings and try to balance all requests from a diversity of customers to effect a successful tour.
CFBT book the accommodations in advance and then sell at appropriate prices.
The price of tour may fluctuate dependent on base costs changes, availability and proximity to departure.
CFBT is at liberty to change accommodations/routings/tour focus as it sees fit or where it becomes necessary.
A non refundable deposit, to be paid on initial booking, is to be made for all tours.
Full payment for the tour is to be made, latest, by the date 8 weeks before the tour start date or you may forfeit your place on the tour.
Should you need to cancel, this must be done within 6 weeks before the tour start date or you may be charged the full tour fee.
If you decide not to take your place CFBT will endeavour to re-sell on your behalf, however, any spare places that have not already been sold will be addressed first.
CFBT does not insure you in any instance for your tour/holiday/bike/excursions - you must arrange this yourself.
CFBT assumes that you ride a road legal bike with road tax/insurance and comprehensive breakdown cover.
CFBT will not accept responsibility or liability for illegal riding manoeuvres made by anybody on their tours.
