Join us to turn the wheel of the year once again as we gather to celebrate Lammas. It is now high summer and the union of God and Goddess, has produced the First Harvest (grain). Lammas is our first of three Harvest Festivals. Many celebrate by making bread from the first harvested grains. Lughnasadh is an Irish Gaelic name for the feast which commemorates the funeral games of Lugh, the Celtic god of light, and son of the Sun. In the mythological story of the Wheel of the Year, the Sun God transfers his power into the grain and is sacrificed when the grain is harvested. We have a dying, self-sacrificing and resurrecting god of the harvest, who dies for his people so that they may live. The doors will open at 5:15 pm and our ritual will commence promptly at 5:45 pm, at that time the doors will be closed to entry, so please be on time. There will be a feast after the ritual, and you are welcome to join us.
