Gilson has been dancing, teaching, and shaping the global Zouk & Lambada scene for over 35 years. When people say “Zouk roots,” Gilson is the roots. We're offering something unique - An opportunity for absolute beginners and dancers of other styles to get the full Gilson experience in this 2-hour Beginner friendly Dance Experience. Discover Lambada and Brazilian partner dance, and have the opportunity to learn from a living legend. When Gilson teaches, he brings the energy of the street, the discipline of decades of training, and the warmth of Brazilian culture. His classes aren’t just about moves—they’re about musicality, connection, and soul.

Who is Gilson?
Gilson isn’t just a teacher—he’s one of the original pioneers of LambaZouk. He’s been dancing, teaching, and shaping the global Zouk scene for over 35 years. When people say “LambaZouk roots,” Gilson is the roots. He was instrumental in spreading Lambada from Brazil to Argentina back in the early ‘90s, even opening the first Brazilian club in Buenos Aires to teach Lambada, Forró, Samba, and more—long before Zouk was global. Global Legend, Local Impact From Brazil to Buenos Aires, Paris to Amsterdam, and even stages in South Africa and Australia—Gilson’s influence is international. He’s toured with the Brazouka Dance Company, co-founded Brazilian Dance Masters in the Netherlands, and mentored thousands of dancers worldwide.
Who is Jessica?
Jessica brings the next chapter of Lambada. She’s part of the younger generation of dancers and teachers carrying the style forward, making it engaging for today’s dancers while staying true to its essence. She has been teaching in Brazil and internationally for years and is excited to come to Australia for the first time!
Why a fast track for beginners?
Usually workshops with world class guest artists are reserved for current dancers. We’re giving new dancers the opportunity to get a taste of Gilson & Jessica’s warmth, cultural connection and inspiration. We also understand it’s hard to commit time to weekly courses if you’re new.

This 2 hour Saturday Experience workshop is for anyone who wants to be able to experience Lambada & the roots of Brazilian Zouk in just one short afternoon. Perfect for current Zouk dancers, dancers of other styles or those curious about Brazilian partner dance and the Lambada craze! This workshop experience with a Living Legend is designed to give you the heart and essence of Lambada, the parent dance of Zouk, with culture, music and joy. Lambada is a whole experience - come and taste it for yourself!
