Lakeside Big Band

This week at Minnehaha Park we are hosting Lakeside Big Band. Formed in 2023 as a vibrant offshoot of the Prior Lake Windjammers Community Band, the Lakeside Big Band embodies the spirit of jazz innovation. Born from a collective love for the genre, this ensemble unites musicians across generations, all driven by the desire to craft unforgettable sounds. With a lineup boasting saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and a rhythm section, the band's 17 members blend their diverse talents to continually refine their signature big band sound. As they journey forward, the Lakeside Big Band remains committed to pushing musical boundaries and delivering electrifying performances. Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.
