Meet at 9:00am at the carpark at Lake Leschenaultia. Travel 10.5 km past Mundaring on Great Eastern Highway and turn left into Old Northam Road, and it is 2 km into Chidlow. At the roundabout turn left into Thomas Rd, after 300 m turn right towards Lake Leschenaultia (signposted) along Rosedale Road. After 2 km turn left into the park. It is now free to enter the park. Inside the gate bear left and keep going round clockwise, past the camping area on your left, until you reach the carparks between the park office and the lake. We shall meet here down by the lake.
A 6 km walk on an excellent track takes us through Jarrah, Marri and Wandoo woodland where 77 bird species have been recorded.
Bring a chair and morning tea to have while we do a combined bird list.
