5th Annual Lake James Watershed Symposium
Watershed Protection through Education and Action
Presented by Lake James Environmental Association, Catawba Riverkeeper, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina, and the NC School of Science and Mathematics-Morganton
Join us as we explore the key issues affecting the Lake James watershed and the ongoing efforts to protect and improve water quality in the region. This event brings community members, professionals, and advocates who share a commitment to preserving the Lake James watershed together for a day of informative presentations, panel discussions, and networking. Topics include water quality monitoring updates, post-Helene ecology in the Catawba River, "Bugs, Bugs, Bugs and their front yards", the Catawba Wateree Relicensing Coalition 25 years later- a brief history and update, organizational updates from our presenting organizations, LJEA's habitat enhancement project at Fonta Flora County Park, and much more. Attendance to the symposium is free. If you would like a boxed lunch (vegan/vegetarian option available), please make your selection when you register. You must register by February 9th to be guaranteed a lunch. You also have the option to add a donation to help cover the cost of your attendance- we suggest $15.
