Lake Effect is a family roots band from northern Michigan that has been delighting audiences near and far for over 40 years. With their tight family harmonies, hilarious original songs, traditional music, and a deep understanding of how to engage audiences of all ages, Lake Effect is a perfect storm for family fun with music.Lake Effect consists of Tiyi Schippers on lap dulcimer and percussion, David Bunce on guitar and banjo, Rachael Davis on guitar and ukulele and banjo, and other very special guests, including Root Bear.
Fiddle Scouts is a gathering of music enthusiasts ages 3-13 and their families who love to play with music. Each gathering features a local or regional folk musician who is adept at sharing music with everyone in the room. Fiddle Scouts often involves drumming, singing or playing a new instrument! Every gathering is different. Suggested donation is $5 per child or $10 per family and can be paid at www.tenpoundfiddle.org or with cash in person.
