Join Kristy from Lake District Wine Co and Lindsay Miller from L’Ecole Winery for a night of wine on the water! We will explore the microclimate of Walla Walla and the history, and taste some of the most awarded wines from that region. Former Northern Michigan winery co-workers and dear friends, Kristy and Lindsay will ensure a night of delicious wine, passion and entertainment! Lindsay started in the wine industry in Michigan in 2016. What was supposed to be a fun summer job quickly turned into a passionate career, eventually landing her in the Woodinville wine scene in the Spring of 2021. Her love for people and creating relationships helped her excel to Tasting Room Manager at multiple wineries, including our new Woodinville Tasting Room. She is very excited to welcome and educate each guest that comes through the door!
L’Ecole- A Visionary Walla Walla Winery Since 1983
L’Ecole № 41 is a third-generation, family-owned winery located in the historic Frenchtown School depicted on our label. Founded in 1983 by Jean and Baker Ferguson as a retirement project, we were the third winery established in the Walla Walla Valley. From their earliest days, they held fast to the belief that Washington wines could rival the best of the Old World. Today, they are one of the most prominent Washington wineries in both national and key global markets.
A Family-Owned Legacy
In 1989, the next chapter began when Jean and Baker’s daughter, Megan, joined the winery with her husband, Marty Clubb. Under Marty’s leadership as Owner and Managing Winemaker, they evolved from a Mom & Pop operation into one of the most esteemed wineries in the Pacific Northwest—all while preserving our family estate values. Today, both the second and third generations are actively involved in multiple aspects of the winery, reinforcing a tradition built to endure.
Estate Vineyards and Terroir-Driven Wines
The backbone of their production is two estate vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley. Ferguson Vineyard and Seven Hills Vineyard—both sustainably farmed—are the source of the winery’s most acclaimed wines. Each site expresses distinct soils, elevations, and microclimates, demanding a thoughtful and intentional approach in the vineyard.
This commitment to terroir continues in the cellar. L’Ecole's winemaking philosophy prioritizes balance, finesse, and purity of fruit, with careful extraction and restrained oak to preserve vineyard character. The result is a portfolio of ultra-premium Washington wines known for structure, natural acidity, and exceptional aging potential.
