The Lake Area Mixed Media Meetup is an inclusive gathering created to bring local artists and creatives together in a relaxed, supportive environment. Visual artists, musicians, writers, makers, and creatives working in every medium and at every experience level are welcome to participate.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a current project and any materials they would like to use. The meetup is an opportunity to work alongside other creatives, exchange ideas, share techniques, find inspiration, and build meaningful connections within the Lake Area’s creative community. There is no required project or medium! Simply bring what you enjoy and come prepared to create.
During this meetup, we will also announce our first ever Lake Area Mixed Media Meetup Spotlight Artist. This new monthly feature recognizes an artist from within our creative community and provides an opportunity to learn more about their work, artistic perspective, and creative journey. Our inaugural Spotlight Artist will be celebrated and featured throughout the month of August.
Join us on Wednesday, August 19, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum, located at 204 W. Sallier Street in Lake Charles.
Come as you are, bring what you love, and spend the afternoon creating, connecting, and belonging.
