Welcome to Freshwalks.
Over two days, you will discover the natural beauty of this stunning Alpine region while enjoying relaxed adventures and local charm.
We will set out to climb Mont Veyrier, following scenic paths that reward us with panoramic views across Lake Annecy and the surrounding peaks. The second day brings a gentler pace, beginning with a boat crossing to Menthon. From there, we will explore the nearby nature reserve before walking along beautiful lakeside routes to Talloires.
Evenings offer the chance to unwind over fabulous regional cuisine, sharing stories from the day and soaking up the welcoming atmosphere of this unforgettable hiking getaway in the French Alps.

Thursday 1 October
MONT VEYRIER & MONT BARON
Route: Annecy - Col des Sauts - Mont Veyrier - Mont Baron - Annecy
Distance: 12km
Max Elevation: 1299m
Ascent: 850m-900m
Grade: Hard
Starting from Le Petit Port, this rewarding hike climbs steadily through forest trails towards the panoramic ridge of Col des Sauts. Early October usually brings crisp morning air, colourful autumn foliage and clear views across Lake Annecy and the surrounding Alps. From the Col, the route continues to the summit of Mont Veyrier before following the scenic crest southwards to Mont Baron.
Expect a mix of woodland paths, rocky sections and exposed viewpoints, with several excellent spots for photos and short breaks. The descent loops back towards Le Petit Port, completing a varied and moderately challenging day hike with around 850-900m of ascent.

MENTHON to TALLOIRES
Route: Annecy - Menthon-Saint-Bernard - Réserve Naturelle du Roc de Chère - Talloires - Annecy
Distance: 8km
Max Elevation: 645m
Ascent: 300m
Grade: Medium
We begin with a scenic boat crossing from Annecy to the port at Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where our walk starts on the eastern shores.
Following quiet lakeside paths southward, we enter the protected Réserve Naturelle du Roc de Chère, a beautiful woodland reserve of limestone cliffs, mixed forest, and panoramic belvédères overlooking the lake and surrounding Alps. The route includes gentle climbs and shaded forest trails before descending towards Talloires, a picturesque lakeside village known for its peaceful bay, alpine scenery, charming harbour, and elegant historic atmosphere.
After taking lunch at L’Abbaye De Talloires we’ll enjoy an extended lake cruise with local beers and wines on our way back to Annecy.
