The LakaiCreations Jewelry Makers Lab is a fun, hands-on 2-hour jewelry-making experience for young creators ages 12–18. No experience is required.
Participants will learn basic jewelry-making techniques, explore the Bead Bar, design their own jewelry, and leave with a completed wearable piece they created themselves.
The $40 registration includes all project materials plus a reusable Jewelry Maker Starter Kit to keep, including a bead design board, jewelry pliers/tool kit, jewelry-making wire, stretch cord, and introductory project materials.
Students will also get a fun introduction to design, craftsmanship, quality control, product value, pricing, and entrepreneurship through the “Name It. Price It.” activity.

What We'll Do
WELCOME TO THE LAB — 10 minutes
Meet your instructor, explore LakaiCreations jewelry, and see what's possible.
MEET YOUR TOOLS — 15 minutes
Learn how to safely use jewelry pliers, cutters, wire, bead boards, and other basic tools.
MAKER SKILLS — 15 minutes
Practice measuring, cutting, bending, connecting, and basic jewelry-making techniques.
THE BEAD BAR — 10 minutes
Choose beads, colors, accents, and create your design.
MAKE IT! — 45 minutes
Turn your design into a finished wearable piece of jewelry with guided instruction.
QUALITY CHECK — 10 minutes
Check fit, finishing, durability, and craftsmanship.
NAME IT. PRICE IT. — 10 minutes
Give your creation a name and get a first look at how makers think about materials, product value, and pricing.
MAKER SHOWCASE — 5 minutes
Show off what you created!

The Jewelry Makers Lab introduces young people to skills that extend beyond making jewelry:

Founder and jewelry artist Anita Crusoe, MBA, will also introduce participants to an important idea:

That is where the Maker-to-Market journey begins.
What's Next?
This introductory experience is also a pilot for a potential 6-week LakaiCreations™ Jewelry Makers Lab: Maker-to-Market Program.
At the end of the session, participants will be asked what they would like to learn next.
Based on interest, future classes may introduce more advanced jewelry-making techniques, copper and wire work, product development, costing, pricing, merchandising, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
Who Should Attend?
This experience is ideal for young people who enjoy art, fashion, jewelry, working with their hands, designing things, learning new skills, or exploring entrepreneurship.

Because each participant receives an individual starter kit and project materials, advance registration should be required.
