LAJKONIK Song and Dance Ensemble presents the 35th Anniversary Concert / Koncert z okazji 35lecia istnienia Zespołu Pieśni i Tańca LAJKONIK We invite you to join The Lajkonik Ensemble as we continue to celebrate our 35th year. Our Spring Concert will present numerous breathtaking performances of Polish folk song and dance. In addition, we will celebrate Spring holiday season with songs and folk customs.
Lajkonik’s mission is much deeper than promoting Polish folk culture through artistic dances, passionate songs and colorful performances throughout the United States. We aim to acquaint Polish-Americans with the richness of their thousand year-old heritage, and to help build pride in Polish Americans through performances of traditional dance and song. Lajkonik has graced many stages including those of the Chicago Cultural Center, the Children’s Museum, Daley Plaza, the Taste of Chicago, Millennium Park, Navy Pier and Polish Fest in Milwaukee. The Ensemble has represented the Chicago Polish Community several times at the International Folk Dance Festival in Rzeszów, Poland and International Youth Folk Dance Festival in Iwonicz Zdroj, Poland. They have also entertained international audiences in Canada, Austria, Italy, Greece, Croatia and Mexico.
W atmosferze 35. rocznicy istnienia zespołu serdecznie zapraszamy na niezapomnianą galę tańca. 100-osobowy zespół, tańczący w sześciu grupach wiekowych zaprezentuje się w setkach oryginalnych, wirujących tęczą kostiumach sprowadzanych z Polski.
Zapraszamy do obejrzenia widowiska, będącego prezentacją imponującego dorobku artystycznego zespołu. Wśród najpiękniejszych punktów repertuarowych z przeszłości, zaprezentujemy nowości przepełnione miłością do folkloru i zachwytem nad rodzimym pięknem.
Lajkonik od lat uczestniczy w koncertach oraz festiwalach na terenie Stanów Zjednoczonych. Coroczne przedstawienia w salach widowiskowych, zyskały sympatię publiczności i przyczyniły się do tego, ze zespół 9 razy reprezentował Polonię chicagowską na Światowych Festiwalach Polonijnych Zespołów Folklorystycznych w Rzeszowie i kilka razy w Iwoniczu Zdroju i Kielcach. Oglądano go także w Austrii, Włoszech, Kanadzie, Grecji, Chorwacji i w Meksyku. Na przestrzeni lat ukazało się wiele artykułów prasowych, a programy o Lajkoniku emitowane były na łamach polskiej i amerykańskiej telewizji.
