About this Event

NETWORKING LUNCHEON

Building Northern Virginia's Premier Innovation District

Join the members of Lambda Alpha International George Washington Chapter (LAIGW) for a discussion with Malaika Scriven, Vice President of Planning & Development and Ashley Shook, Planning & Economic Development Senior Manager at the National Landing Business Improvement District on National Landing's transformation into an innovation stronghold within the DMV region.

With a flourishing defense tech base, a robust ecosystem of innovation partners and anchors, and over $12B dollars in public and private investments, National Landing has all the necessary drivers to be a top destination for innovation excellence. Malaika and Ashley will expand upon the formation of the National Innovation Quarter, Northern Virginia’s premier innovation district bringing together leaders in academia, entrepreneurship, government, and industry at the intersection of national competitiveness and technology, as well as the continued investments in people, place, and programming necessary to foster National Landing’s innovation future.

Agenda Update and Networking Focus
We adjusted our LAIGW luncheon format in response to member feedback that emphasized the importance of meaningful connection and more time for informal networking. By beginning the program earlier, we are creating dedicated time after the presentation for lunch and informal networking, allowing conversations to continue and relationships to develop in a more relaxed setting. Please stay after the main program to discuss with the speaker, other members and guests with this change in agenda line-up.

Agenda

  • 10:30 am – Check-in begins at the registration desk. Attendees arrive and network.
  • 11:15 am – Program Welcome and Introductions, followed by formal presentation and Q&A.
  • 12:30 pm – Program concludes and lunch in conference and kitchen area begins.
  • 1:30 pm – We are cleaned up and out of the space.
